While Microsoft 365 offers remarkable storage value, software buyers should be fully aware of several operational limitations and billing gotchas before subscribing.

The primary pricing trap involves the 6 TB Family plan storage allocation. Marketing materials prominently advertise '6 TB of cloud storage'. However, this storage cannot be pooled into a single large bucket for one user. It is strictly partitioned into six distinct 1 TB allocations tied to separate Microsoft accounts.
