Zapier Central is Zapier's AI powered natural language automation feature. Instead of manually configuring triggers, actions, and conditions, you describe the automation you want in plain English and Zapier Central attempts to build the Zap for you. For example, you can type 'When I get a new Gmail invoice attachment, save it to Google Drive in the Invoices folder and send me a Slack reminder to review it' and Zapier Central will generate the Zap with the appropriate trigger, actions, and folder path. The AI handles app selection, field mapping, and basic logic. In our testing, Zapier Central works well for simple to moderately complex workflows with 2 to 5 steps and standard field mappings. It struggles with complex conditional logic, custom field mappings in niche apps, and workflows that require data transformation. The AI generated Zaps often need manual refinement for production use. Zapier Central is available on Professional plans and above. It represents a significant step forward in making automation accessible to non technical users, but it is not yet reliable enough to replace manual Zap building for complex workflows.
